One of Asia’s biggest developers was looking for solutions for more climate-friendly buildings
The buildings and construction sector consumes 36% of the world's energy and accounts for more than one-third of annual carbon emissions. Therefore, CapitaLand sought ways to design, build and operate their buildings to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement, combatting climate change and ensuring the well-being of building occupants and users. They invited companies to share their ground-breaking solutions for waste reduction, energy and water efficiency improvements, and healthy and safe buildings. From 10 November 2020 to 17 February 2021, CapitaLand ran the CapitaLand Sustainability X Challenge (CSXC) in Singapore to find proposals across the globe to make buildings more climate-resilient and resource-efficient. The two winners of the Open Innovation Call received up to S$50,000 to kickstart a viable pilot, test and implement innovations with CapitaLand. The Challenge
